The Big League Lawns Management Process

At Big League Lawns (BLL), we believe great lawns are managed with purpose — not luck. Our entire process is built around one core belief: your property should thrive, not just get cut. The days of settling for someone to simply mow your lawn are old school. In North Texas, where heavy clay soil, extreme heat, and aggressive Bermuda grass dominate, real results require a smarter, disciplined approach.

Step 1: Start Below the Surface

Every successful lawn program begins underground. We evaluate soil conditions, grass type, drainage, sun exposure, and overall environment. When needed, we conduct soil testing to identify nutrient deficiencies and common clay soil limitations. This removes guesswork and allows us to build a plan specifically tailored to your property.

Step 2: Build a Custom Lawn Plan

Using what we learn, we design a structured lawn management program focused on:

  • Strong, deep root development

  • Dense, even lawn coverage

  • Heat and drought tolerance

  • Long-term lawn health

Our programs are built specifically for Bermuda grass, combining proper nutrient management, soil conditioning, and controlled growth strategies.

Step 3: Manage Growth the Right Way

Healthy lawns aren’t forced — they’re managed. We use responsible growth regulation to improve density, reduce stress, and strengthen the lawn through the toughest months of the year. This proven philosophy is used on golf courses and athletic fields, and it works exceptionally well in North Texas.

Step 4: Mow for Performance

Mowing is one of the most important factors in lawn health. For Bermuda grass, maintaining a cutting height of 2 inches or less encourages lateral growth, tighter density, and a stronger lawn overall. Proper mowing reduces stress, limits thatch buildup, and helps the lawn handle heat and traffic more effectively. Every mow supports the lawn we’re building.

Step 5: Protect the Progress

Weekly maintenance isn’t just about appearance — it protects the investment. Clean cuts, consistent height, edging, and detail work ensure the lawn continues improving week after week.

Step 6: Adjust With the Seasons

As seasons change, so does lawn behavior. We monitor performance, adjust treatments as needed, and communicate clearly with our customers. Recommendations are proactive — never reactive — so your lawn keeps moving forward.

Our Commitment to Your Property

We treat every property like the investment it is. We aren’t satisfied until you are, and we stand behind our work. Our goal is simple: build strong, resilient lawns that perform season after season — not lawns that look good for a week.  This isn’t basic lawn care.  This is professional lawn management — done the Big League Way.

Founder Story: Jeremy Ward, Big League Lawns

Jeremy Ward, founder of Big League Lawns (BLL), built his company on the same standards that define professional baseball: preparation, consistency, and respect for the playing surface.  Years around America’s pastime taught Jeremy a simple truth—performance always starts from the ground up.  In baseball, the field matters.  Footing, turf density, recovery, and uniformity aren’t cosmetic details; they affect safety, confidence, and results.  That mindset followed Jeremy off the field and into turf management, where he saw too many properties treated with shortcuts and guesswork.  Big League Lawns was created to change that. Jeremy applies a professional-athletics approach to managing Bermuda grass, focusing on soil health, controlled growth, and precision mowing rather than forced color or quick fixes. The result is turf that looks better, performs better, and holds up through North Texas heat and stress.  Jeremy’s passion for well-kept properties is personal. Clean lines, dense turf, and consistent color represent pride, discipline, and long-term care—values he learned in baseball and applies to every lawn BLL he manages.  Today, Big League Lawns serves residential, commercial, and HOA properties across North Texas with one clear mission: treat every property like game day. Because great turf doesn’t happen by accident—it’s managed with purpose.
